The DSC PG9303 Wireless PowerG Door and Window Contact monitors doors and windows for activity. This device offers the excellent range and reliability of a PowerG Sensor, and end users will appreciate the discreet, thin profile.

As a surface-mounted door and window contact, the PG9303 follows a rather simple operation. The device consists of a sensor and a magnet. The sensor is placed on the door or window frame, and the magnet is placed on the actual door or window. For best results the magnet should be in direct contact with the sensor when the door or window is closed. A spacing gap of larger than half an inch may prevent proper operation.

When the door or window is opened, the magnet will separate from the sensor. This will release a magnetic reed switch housed inside the sensor. The sensor will then alert the security system to the open door or window. From there, the system will respond based on the programming settings for the zone. Since the PG9303 features an impressively thin profile and a sleek design, it is unlikely to be noticed by anyone looking at the door.

DIY users will particularly appreciate the PG9303 for its ease of installation. Both the sensor and magnet can be mounted without drilling any holes using double-sided foam tape. It can also be easily programmed with any compatible panel. The user should make sure to test the sensor after installation. This is necessary for making sure that the sensor and magnet are aligned properly. The system should reliably display the faulted sensor whenever the door or window is opened.

Another feature for the PG9303 is its signal quality indicator which is displayed conveniently on the outside for the device. This lets the user know that the sensor is communicating properly with the panel. RF interference is something that every user of wireless sensors should keep in the back of their mind, and a signal indicator is very helpful for quickly identifying communication loss.

Like all PowerG Sensors, the PG9303 Door and Window Contact boasts a highly impressive signal range. The sensor will work from up to 2 kilometers away when used with certain alarm systems. Keep in mind that some systems may offer a shorter wireless range. The PG9303 also offers the 128-bit AES encryption that users have come to expect from PowerG Sensors. This is perfect for thwarting any hacking or takeover attempts by a savvy intruder.

The PG9303 offers a six (6) year battery life with standard usage. It uses a single lithium CR2450 coin cell battery that can easily be replaced by the end user when needed. The sensor has dimensions of 2.6"L x 1.2"W x 0.4"D. The included magnet is considerably smaller. The sensor itself weighs 20 grams, or 0.71 ounces. It works with any PowerG-compatible system, including the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus and DSC PowerSeries NEO Systems.

NOTE: The maximum range for a PowerG Sensor when used with an IQ Panel 2 Plus System is about 2,000 feet in open air. This is considerably less than the advertised 2km range. The 2km range refers to when a PowerG Sensor is used with a DSC PowerSeries NEO System
